She's dozing. She's deep in the armchair, working-gal calloused elbow holding up heavy head and shoulders, resting, for just a moment. Folks won't be arriving for another hour. The beer's already crisp cold, platters all totted up with those high-tone hors d'oeuvres, stacked in a solid criss cross column in the big icebox.There's no breeze anywhere, not even a July murmur. There won't be this evening, either. Hot.
It's ready. Everything ready and waiting.
